I will experiment with them soon and update this review. Range can severely suffer if you start walking around corners or have too much between the headphones and the transmitter. The ONLY thing they need is a remote, as the control buttons are too close together making adjustments difficult while on your head. They are very comfortable and can be worn for extended lengths of time.
That's what I wanted to do with this purchase, so mission accomplished. I have a friend that has an older set (HDR 130) of these head phones and I tried them out.
The range is excellent too - works everywhere in my 1,300 square foot apartment and in the hallway too (when I go to take garbage out for instance). What I do agree with is that the control buttons are pain to use. Finally, even though I let them charge for a week before using them, I only got 1.5 hours the first time I used them. They are getting better as I let them fully discharge and then charge up again each time. So, that's probably an unavoidable issue. However, all my complaints combined don't add up to the loss of a full star. They also make my head a tad warm, but I honestly think that's to be expected. Bottom line, I'm able to listen to the TV later at night as loud as I want without disturbing the rest of the family.
I am very pleased with them and would recommend this model as they are updated and perfected to give the buyer a good quality for the $. The week I purchased them they were 50.00 less in price and I don't know how I lucked out, but I paid under 300.00. The buttons are very small, close together; and insufficiently raised above the background. With practice, however, I've learned to use all of them without having to remove the headset.
This is where the warm fuzzies of these headphones really paid off. In this casual close-mic setting I felt as if I was actually there & had to resist the urge several times to turn around & "see" the rest of the crowd.
If the light is only flashing once, press and then quickly release the on/off button and the bottom light will begin to blink multiple times indicating it is broadcasting to more than one headset. Hope this helps. You will hear bullets in front of you, behind you, and to your right. They are great headphones and no regrets. I had original purchased the Sennheiser RS120 but wasn't thrilled with the lack of bass, volume levels and interference issues.
I am the kind of TV watcher that constantly inches the volume up bit by bit until the wife screams bloody murder at me to TURN IT DOWN! The last pair of wireless headphones I tried were years ago. This was, no doubt, influenced by the headphone amp of my 5200ES. You would think a $1500.00 dollar receiver could do better, but alas that is a nit that I shall pick another day.

And at its current price, you're getting a good deal. Basically had the opportunity to do it again, I'd avoid them, however, they were only $24. Auvio Wireless Headphones. I ordered those to replace some Sennheisers that I gave to my hubby. Apart from blaring metal on these Sony phones I personally use them for computer gaming and for my PSP. Wireless Home Stereo.
