I have used these headphones about 6 times for usually about 2 hours each time (normally playing Xbox 360). As I write this, I am using them to listen to music streamed off my PC sent through my PS3. They all have good sound; as good as you will get for wireless. I don't notice much difference between them in terms of sound quality. The On/Off button on the base unit is very, very small and not easy to see if a person has vision problems and cannot be easily felt. A light flashes slowly when the base unit is on, but is dark when it is off.
This feels like a silly oversight from the design team! I would easily recommend these and would buy them again in a heartbeat! Don't get me wrong, the RS 190s are great if you're primary interested in listening to music but if you're looking for home theater quality sound for movies or games, then look no further. The RS 180 are prefect for that purpose.
Now for the big complaint I have, and a reason why I will probably return the 180's in spite of all its good points. There is a slight out-of-phase problem with the source sound.
Finally someone delivers and stands up to all the promises. After opening the box I was quite pleased with the build quality and color. You need to go by feel, and I suppose after some time this will become easier. Regarding range, there may be some slight improvement but not dramatic.
So I bought these because the RF headset that I normally use was starting to break down physically. I had used it for years with no real problem. I can live with that when watching TV, and it certainly is "same difference" when consuming audio-only sources. Brief dropouts can occur when my microwave oven is on and I happen to pass within 2' of it. I haven't worn them for more than 90 minutes at a stretch, but they are comfortable for that amount of time (and that's not the case all the time for me with other headphones). My biggest complaint is that I need to turn the volume up on my source quite loud, so if I forget to adjust it before unplugging, it's extremely loud unplugged. I would still recommend these headphones even with the few negatives it has. With what really counts for me is quality construction, comfort and excellent sound reproduction, these headphones have it. I would have designed it with a little knob to press for power on/off and turn of volume up/down. That would have been so much nicer and easier- especially when you need to quickly adjust the volume to, say, answer a phone or talk to someone. But, again, the range is generally fine for my purposes. Fourth, the headphones are really comfortable, and in my opinion, the headphones and base look handsome and cool. Everything is well designed and well-constructed. It all feels very solid.
