It is still vague what the outcomes of taking music lessons in the improvement of IQ in children are. A study held in the '90s stands out nowadays, concluding that listening to Mozart classical music can increase one's spatial reasoning. That's why there are mothers who believe that their babies will grow up brighter if they play classical music while they asleep. The general perception is that music helps kids become brighter that's why parents give them music classes as early as possible, although there are also reports about the subject that produced other results.

Since there are numerous variables that affect one's intelligence quotient, many argue that it is not easy to just assess its development by just throwing in music lessons to kids's curriculum. Just watching its effects to those who have music classes will not assure steady outcome. kids are naturally in the age where they acquire interest in a lot of things, thus opening their minds to learning. Also, the socioeconomic class of the kids whose parents can ordinarily pay for music lessons may have higher IQ average than those who can't afford the lessons.

While the impact of studying music to kids's IQ are still disputable, there are advantages of giving music lessons to the kids. The constructive impact of music in children are unquestionable, although its part in the improvement of their general intelligence is not certain.

Taking music lessons can help direct little children's restless energy into something creative. They can find musical programs physically fulfilling and mentally enriching. And for preschool children especially, they will be able to discover their surroundings through music and take in information in an enriching and pleasing way.

Children also get to focus and practice memorization during their music lessons. The entertaining and dynamic classes are good early training ground before they begin attending school, and can help them develop their interest in music or even in other things too.

There are some parents who aim to give the limelight to their children, hoping that they will turn into music sensations with lessons. But music lessons don't automatically make children stars. They do so much more, though. They aim to expose kids to music, increase their self-esteem, and help them find their interest.
