    Music Searches--How to Do It

The usual approach for searching out music on the web is to use Google. You will be amazed to find out that there are some drawbacks to doing it this way. Google always make an effort to place the most satisfactory search engine returns on the upper part of the page but with music, the statistical data and algorithms Google use just do not always work in your favor.

There are numerous tactics for a seller to attain first position in Google and these tactics have little to do with having great music to sell. So in addition to Google, I'm going to suggest what I think of as better options.

    Using iTunes

I do quite a few searches for ballet class music. I usually go to iTunes first. The music is rated according to how many times it's been downloaded. This gives me the chance to see what other people are listening to and what they are selecting. While I may not select the same selections, I still have the the ability to locate the music which has risen to the top, and is likely of a higher quality.

    The CDBaby Solution

The trick to locating cool new music is to let somebody else do the hard part for you. Here is the manner in which it works. When you arrive at the CDBaby webpage, type the name of a favorite song in the search box. Each return will have a section under it which says, "recommended if you like" and it will also list a few other artists. These are artists that people like, who also like the album you searched for. Their tastes could be a lot like your own and you can find a lot of great new tunes by looking through their suggestions.

    The Advantage of Amazon

After you've found the music you need, head to Amazon to purchase it. The advantage of buying at Amazon is the price of music is about the lowest you will find anywhere, certainly lower than CDBaby or iTunes. Additionally, they have a great system of reviews, rankings for products and recommendations for other selections you might like.

Hopefully these tips will make your searches for music more enjoyable and productive.
