It covers my whole home and out into the yard for a little distance. You'll never get the rated 100 meter range unless the transmitter and receiver are both outside and in the clear, but the range of this pair is very adequate! The buttons are very small, close together; and insufficiently raised above the background. With practice, however, I've learned to use all of them without having to remove the headset.
I red some comments before I bought them that they are difficult to pair - I didn't find that at all. In fact, as soon as powered up the transmitter and put the batteries in, they came right on! I find having the base besides the TV flashing at me all the time even more annoying than the complete idiocy of buttons that you can't feel. This is utterly ridiculous engineering. I would have preferred to have a nice manufacturer booklet. The packaging was so secure that it took me some time to actually get into the box.
Remember this: escape is not a luxury; it is a necessity if you want to get an advanced degree in sound and mind travel. Now get out and buy these phones! This makes it impossible for me to use them in this way. Since I have hearing issues and is why I buy earphones, I really can't use them for one purpose that is very important to me.
If they're in a completely different room with a closed door, you might be able to. I haven't heard any complaints about that, but lifting them off my head, I can tell they're definitely broadcasting the music outwards quite a bit. I can walk around my house and not miss my program. The set up was fairly easy although I did have to print out the manual from the included software. Customer service tells me that extra headsets are not available until around June. These headphones also come with rechargeable batteries.
They are just Ni-Cad AAA batteries so you should just be able to replace them with standard, inexpensive rechargeable AAAs when they eventually die. Build quality is excellent. I think RS130 is analog sound and RS180 is digital sound. Sound quality is very good and no static background noise. For those listening to passive sound sources (stereo, iPod) you can't go wrong. For those watching TV, as long as your TV or other equipment has delay compensation, you'll be fine, too. I picked these up for a Christmas present for myself after researching wireless headphones online. My partner can't stand hearing gun shots & zombie screams coming from the living room.

These panasonic wireless headphones don't have much bass, but enough to sound great. Big, but not heavy. Buy Headphones Online. Really the only trouble is determining how you can carry around a 2-meter cord easily. Recently I purchased these headphones, an I must say I am very happy. Cool Headphones.
